Laure Kayser, assistant professor in the College of Engineering’s Department of Materials Science and Engineering, will receive the 2024 Polymeric Materials Science and Engineering (PMSE) Early Investigator Award. Kayser has earned this distinction through her research in developing new synthetic approaches and designs for polymeric materials that can address issues in human health and sustainability. One facet of the Kayser Lab’s research investigates how to make electronic materials with bio-inspired properties to interface seamlessly with biological systems. PMSE is a Division of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and its Early Investigator Award is bestowed to early career researchers who are making an impact in the field of polymer science and engineering. Kayser will be honored at the joint reception during the 2024 Fall ACS meeting, which will be held in Denver, Colorado, from Aug. 18-22, along with 23 other recipients.
